going green
in the desert
Environmental responsibility is vital to VAI's story. We integrate sustainable practices for a more eco-friendly and energy-efficient resort. We hope these pioneering practices not only benefits our guests, the resort and the whole hospitality industry, but also protect our beloved desert environment

Sustainability
VAI takes great pride in our sustainability practices. Our goal is to limit our carbon footprint and waste and promote responsible resource use to make hotel stays, events and conferences more environmentally friendly. We also want to help protect the future of hospitality and the meeting and events industry by ensuring they remain viable and can thrive.
Some examples of our planned sustainable practices include:
Using only 30% of water allotted from the former agricultural site
Using less than 1% of Glendale's water utility company's portfolio
25% or less daily water use than the average golf course in Arizona thanks to reduced water features and pools
Collaborating with City of Glendale on water conservation plan
Implementing system to capture rainwater, reduce evaporation and recycle water for landscaping and irrigation
Third party fulfills laundry sustainability practices for all linens, terry and uniforms
Limiting one-time use plastic and offering bulk guest room amenities for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion
Utilizing bottle refill stations throughout the property
At least 75% of seafood will come from sustainable sources as governed by Marine Stewardship Council, Monterey Bay Aquarium and World Wildlife Fund
Partnering with Chefs to End Hunger to redistribute excess food from waste to charitable organizations
Utilizing ECOLAB innovations to reduce environmental and health impact of cleaning products and utilizing technology to maximize efficiency in ware washing
Partnering with local services and vendors to reduce our carbon footprint
